Public Relations Officer

Location: Kingston,

Jamaica Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday 9-5; however, given the nature of the job flexibility is required as working hours can be irregular, and being on-call evenings, weekends and holidays is often required.

Role Overview:

As a Public Relations Officer at Market Me Consulting Limited, you will be instrumental in sculpting and maintaining the positive public image of our diverse clientele. Your expertise in media relations, event organisation, and strategic communication will be pivotal in enhancing the visibility and success of our clients in their respective fields. Utilising your creativity, leadership skills, and an in-depth understanding of the media landscape, you will devise and implement innovative strategies aimed at securing media coverage and elevating public perception.

Key Responsibilities:

 Develop and implement effective publicity strategies and campaigns to bolster clients' public image. 

Create compelling content, including press releases, social media posts, articles, and presentations, that resonates with client objectives.

Organise and manage promotional events, such as press conferences and exhibitions, aligning with clients' strategic goals.

Proactively seek media opportunities to enhance visibility and brand awareness for clients.

Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, clients, and the public. 

Analyse media coverage to measure and boost campaign effectiveness.

Lead market research and stay informed on industry trends to inform strategic decisions. 

Manage multiple client accounts, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budget constraints, and surpass expectations.

Keep clients and colleagues informed on campaign progress and potential promotional opportunities.

Qualifications: 

Demonstrated experience in public relations, media relations, or a similar field. 

Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive, original content.

Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and client accounts.

Strong organisational skills, capable of multitasking and managing projects with tight deadlines. 

A creative mindset adept at identifying and seizing media and promotional opportunities. 

Knowledge of digital content production, social media management, and current communication platforms. 

Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to irregular working hours. 

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications,Journalism or Marketing
